Mum's Gone to Iceland
Mum's Gone to Iceland was created in response to an invitation to 'exhibit' as part an event that was being held for one evening in a number galleries across Folkestone.

Inspired by two visits I had made to Folkestone that year where I was faced with poverty on one occasion and gentrification brought about through the proliferation of the arts on the other, I sought to create a work that would invite those who might not usually attend a gallery space to do so while discussing the regeneration of their area.

I approached this by creating a familiar beach scene within a gallery and by offering ice cream to those who attended, with the invitation to sit and discuss the changes to the town.
